Courtenay Fall Fair, Aug 23&24, 2014

Wow, if you haven’t been to the Courtenay Fall Fair in a while then you really missed a great time this past weekend.  They had something for everyone, including the old fashioned portion of the fair, the biggest vegetable, or the vegetables made into cars and animals.  The quilts were absolutely beautiful as always and I even made sure I voted for my favourite.  If the “Country Fair” displays were not for you then you had to check out the Dock Dogs, or the Cattle Sorting and of course there was the Dressage Drill Team.  Everyone had lots of fun, but my favorite was the really hot lumberjacks doing there demonstration.  It was entertaining with lots of laughs and man those guys really have a dangerous jobs.  I hope you enjoy the photos below I took while I was there.

Flyball Tournament – Saanich Fairgrounds August 15 & 16, 2014

Below are a few images of the Flyball Tournament, For those that have never been to a flyball Tournament it is extremely loud and super fun.  These dogs are traveling, the fastest speed I saw this weekend was 3.5 seconds to go over 4 jumps, get the ball, then come back over the 4 jumps, and that is why the pictures are slightly blurry, because even live these dogs are a blur.  Thank you to Steph, April, Jan, Jude, Joanne, Carol and of course our tireless leader Glen for without you we could not have done as well as we did, and most of all you make it fun.  Hope you enjoy these few pictures, wish more had turned out.

Duncan QH and All Breed Show

Well, the view is absolutely awesome if you have never been to the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds. It was super hot, but every one was in great spirits and on Saturday we had some really decent size classes for the all breed classes.  Hopefully, those showing Quarter Horses in the All Breed classes will continue on to the QH Circuits.  Our Judges had a really good time, and both of them were fabulous.  I have attached the unofficial placings, remember until AQHA confirms these they are unofficial.  I have been asked not to publish the High Points, for the time being.  But stayed tuned when I get permission I will post them. I did take a few photos and you will find the slideshow below as well.

Happy riding.

Glacier Classic

Well, the Glacier Classic held in Courtenay, BC this past weekend was a whole lot of fun.  We battled the rain both mornings, but the weather cleared in the afternoons and everyone still had smiles on their faces.  Our Judges were amazing, and on Saturday we did an Ask The Judge after the Showmanship division.  This was the perfect time to get pointers on your pattern and what the Judges were looking for.  As soon as I get some pictures I will post them, Lorna White took some pics, that she has consented to posting.  Below please find the unofficial Show Results (Until AQHA approve) as well as the High Point and Reserve Champion winners.
